The series
Praline Street Bakery
On Praline Street in New Orleans there is a bakery that has never sold a cake. Behind it, and behind a jazz club and a bail bonds office, a family by choice runs a quiet trade in favors, money and pull that nobody ever names out loud. When the matriarch who built it all is laid up by a stroke, she hands the family to two women who can barely stand in the same room: the granddaughter who left for Chicago ten years ago, and the ex she left behind. Over one year, from Carnival to Christmas Eve, the family takes on a rival house, the state and a ledger that has gone missing, and falls in love, one woman at a time. A sizzling, slow-burn series of found family, old feuds and second chances.

And the family's youngest, Frankie, is keeping a secret of her own.

Then the other side starts knowing the family's plans before they are made.
